Village of salt workers on the edge of the Ambel Salt Flats, in the north of Cirda.
Description
Ambel lies on the eastern side of the salt flats, on a knoll of firm ground ringed by white crust. It has a few red-roofed houses and a chapel with a bell gable. Heaps of salt are piled in front of the houses. The village lives by cutting the crust of the flats and carrying it by mule train to Sirta, from where it goes on to Marena and the rest of Cirda.
