The Spine
mountain rangeDraft
Mountain range that crosses Cirda from north to south and divides its wet side from its dry side.
Geography and climate
It rises at the northern end of Cirda and runs south to the center, where the pass opens and the chain turns east in a few scattered peaks. They are high peaks of brown rock, with snow on the summits through the winter. The clouds from the ocean stay on its western slope, covered by the Orvalla Weald. The eastern slope is left bare and faces the Sirta Plains.
The Almiar River springs on its western side. About halfway along, a narrow pass allows it to be crossed. It is the only road between the two coasts of Cirda, and Fort Tarsa guards it.
